One Day Late

Having such a busy Sunday I put off my lists until today. So for last week people I especially appreciated:
  1. Mindy for doing my pictures.
  2. Mallory for making pictures comical.
  3. My biofeedback specialist for not being mad when I was LATE and actually telling me to not get upset, it doesn't matter. I felt bad and it made me feel better.
  4. My mom for hugging me when I left. I really needed a hug. I don't think she knew that.
  5. Hilary Weeks for brightening my day whenever I turn on her music.

Things I was especially grateful for/made me happy last week:

  1. Sunshine!
  2. Wind!
  3. Driving with the windows down and music turned up.
  4. Oakcrest camp songs
  5. The beautiful 2 hr drive in the hills of southern Ohio between home and school (I love driving in the car by myself, its a great time to think)
  6. That I'm okay being by myself.
  7. Getting and writing letters to missionaries (Troy and others).

This week has been a difficult one not really having any close friends around and with school coming to a close and everything else. Last night on my drive back to school Heavenly Father really gave me the rejuvination I needed. I love life! Have a great week. Take a minute to appreciate how wonderful and lovely the world around you is! It'll make things much calmer/happier!

The Time Has Come The Walrus Said

Many of you know that my best friend left last weekend for his mission. He officially reports to the MTC today, and I got my final text message from him this morning. Troy has been a great friend to me and to mark his departure I thought I'd do a tribute to our friendship and all the things we've done together, that will make my sister want to throw up due to its corniness. We did A LOT!

Everything from Troy's first plane ride,
To show choir (Wilmingtones),
To the pioneer trek,

To sweet swing dancing (even though you can't see our faces in the picture),

To somehow ending up in the same EFY group by some weird chance,

To Troy's graduation,
The funnest group dates around,
And Much Much More!
We had a lot of good times. Troy has been a great friend to me in times when I really needed one. I think its fair to say he's the best friend I've ever had and I really appreciate the friendship he's given me. He may or may not see this before he leaves but, good luck Troy! I'll miss you bud! Have a great 2 years and beyond!
When Troy gets back I'll have graduated from high school, become a legal adult, graduated college, be a year away from my Master's(at least that's the plan), and maybe more!
Not to be dramatic, but with that begins a new phase in my life without my twin and me attached at the hip :) What this new phase will bring who knows but I'm excited for what comes next!

Relief!

The dreaded week is over! No more big assignments due the rest of the semester! WOO!
Now I'll have a bit more time to pot more than just these weekly lists. But for now,

People I especially appreciate this week:

  1. My mom for spending an entire day sewing a jacket for me that didn't even get worn. Thank you!
  2. Everyone who helped me get my experiment done including Terra, crusade and my child and adolescent psyc class.
  3. The stake YW/YM presidencies and everyone else who did an awesome job with Mormon Prom.
  4. Mindy for taking time out of her busy schedule to do my graduation announcements.

Things that I'm grateful for/made me happy this week:

  1. Much needed extra hours that just appear from no where.
  2. Laughter! I love laughing!
  3. Getting letters from old friends.
  4. The idea of BYU for grad school. Pray I get in when the time comes!

16 weeks is too long. I'm ready to go back to quarters! If only.
I promise, my posts will get more interesting very soon!
Have a great week!

Happy Easter!
While enjoying a wonderful weekend with my family I thought I shoud take a minute for my Sunday lists.
People I especially appreciate this week:
  1. Jesus Christ for dying and rising again for me!
  2. Andrea my roommate for having LONG, LATE, and FUN conversations with me!
  3. Kathy Geyer for just sincerely wanting to help those around her and putting so much effort into it.
  4. NICHOLAS GOLDIE!!!

What I'm thankful for/made me happy this week:

  1. Christ's sacrifice and then triumph over death.
  2. The Choo Choo song (my family will know what this is)
  3. That I could control my brain waves at my biofeedback appointment.
  4. All the frogs at Cosi
  5. The random facts my Experimental Psyc teacher shares every class.
  6. Being with my siblings/parents/niece/nephews all weekend.
  7. A lovely nap

I hope you are all enjoying your Easter and keep in mind the real meaning, and eat lots of candy! Happy Easter!

By the way. I'll start putting some pictures on soon to make my posts a little more interesting and a little less boring.

School...

Due to the rapidly approaching end of the semester my next week will consist of HOMEWORK and nothing else. Even during my family's Easter weekend together. All of my last big assignments for the semester are due in a 4 day period. Wish me luck on accomplishing everything I need to get done. After that, finals and I'm free. The only thing that will get me though this next week is knowing 4 weeks left! And only 1 year after that! The end is approaching quickly. Then on to grad school. But I think I should focus on my upcoming assignments as I have a tendency to plan 6 months in advance but not he next 5 minutes. Can you tell I don't want to start my homework... I'm rambling. Have a great week!

All You Need Is LOVE

On Sundays, trying to find wholesome activities and avoid anything I would consider schoolwork I usually find myself searching the web for a few hours, which I don't like, so I thought I would combine the web and wholesome Sunday fun.

I am a firm believer in the fact that all you need in life is Love and Gratitude. Love for God, everyone, and everything. Also you need gratitude and happiness which go hand in hand. When you are grateful for things they make you happy, when you are happy about something you are grateful for it(or should be). If you have Love and Gratitude everything else in your life will go a lot smoother. However, this can be hard so I'm going to make it a little easier for myself.

Every Sunday from now on, to combine Sunday and the web I am going to make 2 lists. I think one of the biggest influences in our lives is other people, for good and bad. I think we should tell people how great they are and how much we appreciate them, because they often don't know they touched you in some way. And it always feels nice to be appreciated. Also, telling people face to face is weird so this is the least awkward and corny way I could think of. So list one: at least three people that I appreciate this week.
  1. My mom- for an enjoyable lunch and afternoon out together and for being willing to talk about ME the whole time and actually being interested.
  2. My roommate Andrea-worrying about me and asking me several times this week if I was okay.
  3. Paul from the New Testament-he is bold and wonderful. I like him a lot.

Love. Covered.

Since two people would be in list 1 each week, they get their own category in what I'm grateful for/made me happy this week. Because we all know where the things that make us happy come from. If not, might I suggest this (for those of you with facebook). So anyways three things that I'm grateful for/made me happy this week:

  1. Tomatoes
  2. The puff of shampoo smell that comes when I take my hair down
  3. The way the general authorities talk about their wives in conference

Gratitude. Check.

So now that you've spent a half on hour reading reading this ridiculously long post, I hope you are little more happy and feel a little more love. And if you are having a hard time being happy, a happy book is a great solution! Happy Sabbath!

New Day

So are you humming Louie Armstrong's What A Wonderful World yet? I hope so. It's a great outlook on life.
So three things I learned/noticed today:
  1. I LOVE general conference and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  2. I have no desire to wear heels (the really high ones) in my life. Ever. They make people walk like chickens. So I need to get rid of my new pair.
  3. Mormon Tabernacle Choir has a myspace page and the first song is When You Wish Upon a Star :)
  4. Life is wonderful!

Technically that's four but the last is one we should notice every day!

Before I got a blog I had lots of ideas for posts and now that I have one I'm brain dead. So my random thoughts will have to do. Upcoming... my favorite thoughts from conference. They're too great not to be shared!

Conforming

Being the only girl (child) in my family who doesn't have a blog I decided to join the crowd. Plus I stink at journaling so maybe this will help.

For those of you who are not my mom, or sister, or sister-in-law (which may be none) I'll give you an update on my life and what I'm doing. I am a senior in high-school this year and a junior in college. I graduate this spring from high school and next spring from college with a B.A. in Psychology. From there I hope to go on the get a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy or School Counseling depending on what programs I am accepted into. I am living with roommates at school, one of which happens to be my sister Mallory. My life consists of school and church and that's about it. Pretty lame I know but I love it!

Now that you know what I'm up to in general you can get specifics in upcoming posts! And remember... its important to Love Life!
